When “Marie” first came to us in February 2026, she was running on empty. Fatigue so severe she could not blow dry her hair or stand at the sink long enough to brush her teeth. Anxiety at a 9 out of 10. Leg cramps four nights a week jolting her awake. A chronic cough that never quit. A traveling itchy rash that had been spreading for two years. And a general sense that her body was fighting something she could not name.
Six months later, the picture looks remarkably different.
Her anxiety has dropped from a 9 out of 10 to a 2 out of 10. Her cough is 90% better. Her rash is calming. Her leg cramps are minimal. She can walk further, stand longer, and recently walked down the chemical aisle at the grocery store without getting an instant headache — something that would have stopped her in her tracks just months ago. She is sleeping better and managing her energy with intention. She describes niacinamide, one of her key supplements, as “a gift.”
So what was going on?
Through careful history-taking, a detailed stool microbiome analysis, and a willingness to go slowly and listen to her body, we identified several interconnected root causes — a reactivated Epstein-Barr virus, a condition called Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS) where the immune system becomes chronically overreactive, significant gut dysbiosis with beneficial bacteria nearly completely absent, intestinal permeability (leaky gut), and a bacterial overgrowth producing hydrogen sulfide in her digestive tract.
Rather than treating each symptom in isolation, we addressed the underlying terrain — her gut, her immune system, and her nervous system — one careful step at a time. Because Marie is sensitive to many supplements and medications, we introduced changes slowly and methodically, always watching and listening. Some things worked beautifully right away. Others needed adjusting. That is the nature of this work — it is a collaboration, not a prescription.
We are still in progress. There is more healing ahead. But Marie’s story is a powerful reminder that symptoms that have been present for years can begin to shift in months when the right questions are asked and the right foundations are supported.
A Note on Accessibility and Ongoing Care
Marie’s care has been conducted largely via telehealth — proof that deep, meaningful naturopathic work does not always require you to leave your home. Whether you are managing a busy schedule, limited mobility, or simply prefer the comfort of your own space, telehealth visits make it possible to receive the same thoughtful, personalized care.
Ongoing complex cases require regular check-ins, careful supplement adjustments, lab interpretation, and the kind of continuity that builds real results over time. Consistent care is how we do our best work together.
