We’ve been running neurotransmitter tests on patients for many years to take the guess work out of what is causing their symptoms such as:
- Mood disorders – anxiety, depression
- OCD behavior
- Loss of mental focus: ADD, ADHD, cognitive fog
- Addiction and dependency
- Loss of appetite control
Neurotransmitters are brain chemical messengers that facilitate communication between every cell, tissue, and system in the body. Neurotransmitters work with receptors in the brain to influence a wide range of processes such as mental performance, emotions, pain response and energy levels.
Symptoms don’t always tell the whole story. In fact, patients with significantly different underlying conditions may experience a similar set of symptoms. While one anxious patient may have low serotonin, another may have high glutamate levels, another may have low GABA levels. Neurotransmitter testing measures key biomarkers for each patient and helps take the guess work out.
Once the tests are back, we help people with personalized treatments using amino acids, herbs and nutrients. Once we can identify the underlying cause, treatment can be more easily tailored.
